Giving For The Benefit of Humanity
There is no doubting the considerable scientific benefits for humanity that have come about due to the basic research conducted in the Weizmann Institute of Science laboratories by some of the best minds in the world. Lives have been saved, technology has been advanced and our understanding of the universe has been broadened.
But science has a cost.
Of the Institute’s annual operating budget, nearing US$200-million, approximately one-third is provided by the government of Israel. The remainder comes in the form of grants, donations and bequests from people who understand the importance and far-reaching implications of basic research and want to support one of Israel’s top scientific institutions.
People like you.
You can become a partner with the Weizmann Institute of Science and join us in our mission of Science for the Benefit of Humanity.
There are many ways to make a gift to the Weizmann Institute of Science.
You can make an outright gift to endow a chair; support one of the Institute’s faculties, centres or projects; or fund a graduate scholarship for a Canadian, Israeli or international masters, doctorate or post doctorate student.
| You may wish to make an undesignated contribution where your gift is applied to one of the Institute’s immediate priorities.

For an everyday giving opportunity, consider the purchase of Tribute Cards to mark important events and calendar dates. For more information on Tribute Cards, click here.
All donations will be considered for naming opportunities such as a building, laboratory or endowed chair. In appreciation, it would also be our privilege to enroll you as a member of the Weizmann Honour Society and inscribe your name in a unique electronic display at the Barbara and Morris Levinson Visitors Center on the Institute’s campus.
All gifts can be made in the form of cash or with appreciated stocks, bonds, mutual funds, trust units or similar. We will also consider accepting real estate or a valuable collectables, such as artwork.

As a result of recently revised Canadian taxation regulations, NOW is the best time to consider your gift to the Weizmann Institute of Science, as capital gains exposure on the donation of appreciated securities, or items, has become significantly lower or have been removed altogether.
Planned Giving
| Planned Giving through annuities, estates, bequests and trusts are an increasingly popular way for people to leave a lasting legacy in support of Science for the Benefit of Humanity. |
A Weizmann Annuity you will provide with a guaranteed income for life and the Weizmann Institute of Science receives a sizeable benefit upon your death. It may also help you reduce your overall tax bill and, in some cases, actually help recover government benefits.
To discuss what form of giving best suits you and your family, or to ask where the donation is needed the most, please contact either Michael Meyer, National Executive Vice President, 416-733-9220, [email protected] or Susan Stern, Executive Director, Eastern Region, 514-342-0777, [email protected].
